Telegraph Hill

This is my posting for the Illustration Friday theme, Perennial. The tranquility of a perennial garden on a warm day.

The extreme-sport of chess.

This is my posting for the Illustration Friday theme, Gesture. The mermaid is gesturing to someone offside.

This is my posting for the Illustration Friday theme, Stay. My take on it is "Stay Calm!" It is an homage to the comedian, Lucille Ball. Part of her act was, of course, having her show panic on a regular basis.

This is my posting for the Illustration Friday "Midsummer Night" theme. The painting is of a midsummer night.

This was a posting for the Illustration Friday theme, Surrender. I chose to illustrate it as "Never Surrender" (Winston Churchill). I used as my template, a funerary sculpture photograph, taken by Pamela Williams. I transformed the woman into an older, and slightly more intimidating creature, than that of the original.

This is an adaptation of an earlier painting of mine, called Nature Stirs.
